What The Mirror Test Is
The Mirror Test is a psychological and spiritual reflection tool built to help you name the identity patterns you've been running. The way you hide. The way you strive. The way you manage everything around you while something underneath stays broken. The way you disappear when it matters most.
You already know something is driving that. You just haven't had language for it yet.
It won't diagnose you or hand you a label, and it won't pretend to know your heart perfectly.
It simply helps you notice what's already there.
The test offers two pathways.
Core Version
Uses accessible language around identity, emotion, belonging, truth, and growth.
Faith Version
Uses Christian spiritual formation language for those whose relationship with God shapes how they survive, perform, hide, heal, surrender, and grow.
Both versions are 20 questions and take about 10 to 15 minutes.
The Mirror Test identifies 13 patterns: shame, control, performance, avoidance, disconnection, over-functioning, self-erasure, overgiving, meaning-making, stuck story, and more. On the faith track: wounded story, martyr, spiritual control, false humility, borrowed burden.
These are not character flaws. They are not proof that you're broken.
They are survival strategies. Things you learned when you needed them. The question is whether they're still serving you or just running on autopilot.
The goal isn't to shame the pattern.
It's to understand what it's been protecting, so you can decide what to do next.
Who It Is For

Who Builds It
The Mirror Test was created by Rhian Romain, founder of Awakened Hearts LLC.
He built it because he needed it first. For most of his life, he knew something was running under the surface. The ambition that never felt like enough, the need to prove things to no one in particular, the way he'd perform for rooms he didn't even care about. He spent years studying the patterns in psychology, in scripture, in his own history. What he found was a framework that explained not just the behavior, but the ache beneath it.
He started from a simple observation:
Most people don't need another personality type.
They need language for why they do what they do.
Every question, reflection, and letter in The Mirror Test is built with that in mind: honest, emotionally safe, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that people deserve tools that treat them with dignity.
The goal isn't to automate care.
It's to make the language accessible enough that more people can find a place to start.
